Can discrimination be positive?

International corporations usually adopt policies aimed at respecting of a principle of equal treatment. Some corporations take a step further and take up actions aimed at achieving a state, in which representatives of certain minorities are represented among the entirety of employees. Until recently, such actions were associated with actions of states, which sought to equalize chances, e.g. in education, of people coming from different social minorities. Such actions are considered as controversial and unfair by some people and by others as fully justified and adequate reaction to actual inequalities occurring in the society. Leaving aside reflections regarding this matter on political and social side, I would like to present some aspects of this institution on the grounds of the Polish labour law.
