Sometimes in relations between employers and employees a situation occur, which justifies imposing a penalty on an employee, but not always justifies termination of such employee. In such situations, the Polish labour law provides tools entitling employers to discipline employees, however, in a limited scope. Unjustified or incorrect use of sanctions envisaged by the Labour code may have its final in court. Therefore before imposing a penalty, the type of employee’s misconduct and rules for imposing such penalties have to be thoroughly analysed.
